Bengaluru, Sep 1 (UNI) AbhiBus is rapidly expanding with plans to link 50,000 villages and add 75,000 new buses this year, achieving a 20% growth rate that surpasses the industry average based on previously reported annual figures.

As part of its customer-first approach, the company has also reaffirmed its commitment to passenger safety through its “pink seat” policy, ensuring women travelers do not have male passengers seated next to them, especially in sleeper class buses — a feature now widely adopted across the industry.

AbhiBus COO Rohit Sharma shared these facts during Prawaas 4.0 to this news agency, highlighting the company’s rapid growth and technological advancements. “Our goal is to grow faster than the industry and provide safe, reliable travel options, especially for women,” Sharma said. “The ‘pink seat’ policy, which we pioneered a decade ago, remains a cornerstone of our safety measures.”

At the event, AbhiBus also launched its new app, AbhiBus Edge, tailored for bus operators. Sharma emphasised the app’s role in boosting operational efficiency, allowing operators to update bus features, manage offers, and implement safety measures. “Nearly 80% of our fleet is GPS-enabled, allowing customers to track their bus in real-time and share the location with their families,” Sharma explained.

He also highlighted the integration of artificial intelligence to predict potential delays and breakdowns on key routes. “We’re leveraging AI to forecast issues and offer customers the best travel options based on quality and pricing,” he added, underscoring the company’s commitment to using technology for safer, more efficient journeys.

Sharma pointed to AbhiBus’s partnerships with major platforms like PhonePe, ixigo, Confirm Ticket, and IRCTC as key drivers of its market expansion. “These collaborations bring in new and repeat customers, bolstering our position in the market,” he noted. AbhiBus’s unique features, such as assured free cancellations and full refunds, have also enhanced customer loyalty.

“Our commitment to safety, innovation, and customer-centric solutions positions AbhiBus as a leading disruptor in the bus travel sector,” Sharma stated. “We are not just meeting industry standards; we are setting them.”

With its ambitious plans to connect thousands of villages and prioritise passenger safety, AbhiBus continues to redefine the bus travel experience in India.
