TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Indonesia’s Vice President-elect and Solo Mayor, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, said that the Surakarta City Government is collaborating with India as a partner for future cooperation in the technology sector, especially AI.

“I have brought the Indian Ambassador’s proposal, there is AI or artificial intelligence (mentioned in the proposal),” he said in Solo, Central Java, Sunday, June 23, 2024.

However, he did not want to explain in more detail regarding the possibility of this collaboration. “We are exploring several collaborations, the details will come later,” he said.

He admitted that he had sent a team to India to start exploring this collaboration. “Mr. Prabowo has also made a statement. Several of our teams have been sent there too,” he said.

Previously, Gibran and the Indian Ambassador to Indonesia Sandeep Chakravorty attended the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and India at the Surakarta City Hall Yard, on Saturday evening, June 22.

“This event is very important for us because we are celebrating 75 years of diplomacy between India and Indonesia,” said Sandeep.

He said that India was the first country to recognize Indonesia’s independence and sovereignty on September 2, 1946. Regarding this commemoration, he deliberately chose the city of Solo as the venue for the commemoration of Indonesia-India relations. “Several months ago I met Mr. Gibran to ask for permission to hold this event and it was approved. We chose the city of Solo because of Mr. Gibran,” he said.

As a series of events, the 10th International Day of Yoga was also held on Sunday morning, June 23, 2024, at the Surakarta Hadiningrat Palace Complex. “Yoga for our health is for the health of our community. Let’s celebrate yoga for our future,” he said.
