Io.net is a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) that has now reportedly collaborated with FLock.io, a decentralized artificial intelligence training platform, to debut a new consensus mechanism known as “Proof of AI” (PoAI).
This development is expected to increase integrity and scalability within decentralized AI networks. According to a press release shared with sources, this mechanism is supposedly the first of its kind, made to strengthen the dependability of decentralized networks.
News sources state that the proof of AI (PoAI) mechanism is made to ensure that users of decentralized networks actually add to the compute resources instead of just participating under pretence in order to get rewards. Milan Amin, Chief Marketing Officer at Io.net, shared in a Q&A that PoAI will “enable decentralized networks to become more a trusted and scalable solution for AI applications.” Amin stressed that this method coincides with Io.net’s wider vision, which views decentralized networks as a better alternative than conventional cloud providers when it comes to performance, scalability, and low costs.
The proof of AI mechanism is crafted to offer fair compensation for honest contributors to decentralized networks. Amin noted, “The mechanism ensures that honest contributors are fairly compensated,” while discouraging those who try to earn rewards without making real contributions. This alignment of incentives is poised to increase profitability for genuine contributors and contribute to the long-term sustainability of the network.
According to Amin, the proof of AI mechanism “represents a significant leap forward” for decentralized AI networks. By offering a dependable way to verify the integrity and performance of compute resources, PoAI will allegedly aid decentralized networks to become more reliable and scalable solutions for AI applications. The press release shows that imposing this new consensus mechanism will back the validation of DePIN node integrity “in a decentralized and AI-native way” while aggregating the judgments from Io.net nodes.
Additionally, there were some abrupt leadership changes for Io.net as Ahmad Shadid, co-founder of Io.net, retracted from his role as CEO only two days before the token was scheduled to be launched. Shadid’s stepping down, reportedly effective immediately on June 10, was found to be linked to allegations about his past. Tory Green, another co-founder and the former Chief Operating Officer stepped up to fill his shoes. Shadid stated that he decided to move back to allow Io.net to “move forward without distraction” and to “focus on its growth and success.”
