Following a period of turmoil, Open AI finally announced that they had reached an agreement to bring back Sam Altman and Greg Brockman.

The tech industry took a chaotic turn on November 17 when Open AI’s CEO Sam Altman was made to step down from his position by the board of directors of the firm. Employees at the organisation did not take the decision positively and hundreds of them threatened to leave the company. In fact, Open AI’s former president and co-founder Greg Brockman also dismissed his responsibilities towards the firm. Following a period of turmoil, Open AI on November 22 finally announced that they had reached an agreement to bring back Sam Altman as the Chief. The firm’s co-founder and President Greg Brockman has also rejoined.

Following Open AI’s announcement of bringing them back, the co-founder Greg Brockman took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to officially declare his return to the Artificial Intelligence community in a series of posts. Dropping a heartwarming group selfie, Brockman wrote, “We are so back”.

Referring to the same topic, he shared two more posts that read, “Returning to OpenAI & getting back to coding tonight” and “The mission continues”. Dropping a snap of his laptop and ID card, he expressed that it felt “good to be back”.

Soon after the group selfie was posted on X, social media users reacted to the picture in the comment section. While one of them wrote, “Awesome picture, Keep it forever,” another quipped, “Now THAT’S what company culture should look like. Can’t wait to see what you build next Greg.”

Advising Altman and the others to relax, now that the worst is over one person said, “What a weekend. Now enjoy Thanksgiving.” “You guys had the best and the most dramatic team-building event in history. Glad you’re back together,” came another encouraging remark.

Changing their decision Open AI on Wednesday also revealed the new set of directors who would now be heading the company. The names on the list included “Bret Taylor (Chair) and Larry Summers” with only Adam D’Angelo retaining his position. “We are collaborating to figure out the details. Thank you so much for your patience through this,” they concluded.

After Sam Altman’s ejection and Greg Brockman’s resignation, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella offered the two an opportunity to lead Nadella’s AI-equipped, advanced research team. Although Atlaman and Brockman chose to return to Open AI later on, Nadella supported their decision graciously.
