What is the biggest issue facing the animation industry right now?

For me, the biggest issue facing the animation industry is finding a way to integrate newcomers into an economic model of financing. With the crisis of streamer investment, more than ever we have to be creative in terms of financing.

What is your company doing in response to this?

We are developing different formats of productions. We try to create our own IP and we investigate different genres.

How are you using generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools to make animated projects and how are these tools altering the role of the animator?

We are not using AI in our productions at this stage, only for some mood boards in our artistic presentations.

What does the popularity of Roblox tell us about young audiences and can online social platforms be effectively used to launch new animated IP?

We don’t use Roblox, but regarding social networks, yes, online social platforms can effectively launch new animated IP. They allow for widespread visibility and engagement with targeted audiences. They also provide valuable feedback and promotional opportunities through direct interactions and analytics.

Tell us about the project you are pitching at Cartoon Forum.

Mia Moké (52×13′) is a French, Senegalese and Luxembourgian series. It’s the only series developed inside the company and we are working at the same time on a comic book version with Dupuis as publisher. The plot follows the adventures of a little girl with a strong character who, with the help of her friends, has taken on the mission of protecting the nature that surrounds them.
