Google Startup Campus Partners with Seoul Metropolitan Government for ‘AI Startup School’ Program

In a significant demonstration of Google’s dedication to fostering entrepreneurship in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) field in South Korea, the global tech leader has collaborated with the Seoul Metropolitan Government to introduce the ‘AI Startup School with Seoul’ program at the Google Startup Campus in the city.

Scheduled to commence on March 5 at the Snow Flower Square Hall of Sookmyung Women’s University in Seoul, the program will span six weeks and encompass a diverse array of sessions tailored to empower early-stage startup entrepreneurs. From Entrepreneurship Workshops to Strategic Product Storytelling and Customer Acquisition Strategies via Google Advertising, participants will gain invaluable insights into the AI landscape and acquire the essential skills required to thrive in the startup ecosystem.

Program targeting youth to being on March 5

Recruitment for the program opens on February 5, targeting college students in Seoul and aspiring entrepreneurs alike. With a cap of 6,000 participants, including 1,000 participants per round, applicants are encouraged to apply promptly to secure their spot.

The launch event on March 5 promises to be a landmark occasion, with notable figures such as Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon and Google Korea President Kim Kyung-hoon slated to attend. Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage with successful AI startup founders, who will share their experiences and insights during the educational session.

Mike Kim, Head of the Asia-Pacific region at Google Startup Campus, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, affirming Google’s commitment to nurturing young talent in Seoul through the ‘AI Startup School with Seoul’ program. “We will provide a foundation for them to grow into leaders who can play an active role on the global stage beyond Korea,” Mike said.

Likewise, Lee Hae-woo, Director of the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Economic Policy Department, emphasized the significance of the partnership in cultivating future leaders in pivotal industries like AI and robotics. “Through this cooperation, we hope to expand cooperation in various fields in the future, and we will take the lead in supporting young people in Seoul so that they can grow into leaders of future core industries such as AI and robots,” he said.
