November 3 (SeeNews) – Indian software services exporter Infosys has opened a new proximity centre in the Bulgarian capital Sofia, as part of its ongoing European expansion, it said on Friday.

Over the next four years, the company plans to expand its Bulgarian workforce to 500 employees, who will work on global projects in next-generation digital technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud services, for clients in the region, Infosys said in a press release.

The new centre will facilitate the transition to AI and cloud technology solutions for global and European clients, strengthening Infosys’ existing relationships in the European manufacturing, retail and financial services sectors.

It will also serve as an innovation hub to grow teams in digital, analytical, system applications and products in data processing (SAP) and cloud technologies, Infosys said.

Founded in 1981, Infosys serves clients in over 56 countries with a workforce of more than 300,000 people.
